Overview

-
The ML620Q5xx and ML620Q4xx CMOS microcontrollers utilize LAPIS Technology's original 16bit RISC U16 Core to achieve superior performance.
The U16 Core is instruction-compatible with the U8 Core and offers parallel processing using a 3-stage pipeline architecture to enable efficient instruction execution with one instruction per clock cycle. -
The ML620Q5xx and ML620Q4xx leverages low power technology utilized in 8bit U8 Core MCUs to improve processing power and provide high performance operation (16MHz Max.) while maintaining ultra-low current consumption (0.45μA at Halt, >250µA/MHz operation).
A number of peripheral functions are also built in, such as a successive approximation A/D converter that supports key detection and capacitive touch switches, an RC oscillation type 24bit A/D converter ideal for temperature and humidity measurement, multiple serial ports (i.e.I2C, UART, SPI), and Flash memory that enables onboard writing.
The ML620Q5xx and ML620Q4xx Benefit
High performance helps to reduce average current consumption in addition to its low power consumption in HALT mode.
- Power consumption optimization in various power modes
-
- Optimal combination of multiple power-down modes to further reduce power consumption
- Added power-down mode to flash ROM
- Power down mode added to regulator

- Various power-down modes
- The power down mode has been newly expanded to 3 types (Deep Halt, Halt-H, Halt). High-speed processing at 16MHz is possible, and the increase in power consumption due to it has been reduced by optimally combining the three power-down modes, resulting in reduced power consumption.
- Flash ROM and regulator
-
By improving the Flash ROM and regulator, the newly developed power-down mode reduces power consumption during standby.
(Reference) Standby current: 0.5µA 0.45µA (10% reduction) in general comparison!!
